The evolution of the CCM Axis goalie pads is now. An improved design and lighter weight than previous Premier pads, the Axis line has taken into account countless pieces of feedback from pro level goaltenders. The redesigned goalie pads hit all of the marks needed to make these things light, responsive and performance based.
Let's start from the bottom of the pads and the 90 degree boot angle and bungee toe attachment system. The angle of the boot along with a slightly deeper boot channel helps keeps the pads secure on the ice, at a better attack angle and more responsive entering and recovering from the butterfly. Your butterfly pushes are enhanced and easier due to the boot angle and tie system with the RVH a breeze. Â
The inside shin and calf is a shallow looser fit features the CCM QMSS strapping system that keeps the leg rotating properly yet solid in the pad. Moving into the knee blocks, the Axis Pad has a recessed foam knee blocks or "landing gear" with a removable knee cradle wrap with a PE foam and grip texture. Stability is the key with improved ice seal and impact absorption. The deeper knee cradle aids in 5 hold closure and also allows for a wider range of knee pads to be worn without sacrificing comfort or mobility. The core of the pads are CCM's own L1TEXCORE technology that is very lightweight and specifically built for aggressive rebounds.
